Bull and Schneider Electric launch energy audit service | | 2008-07-10 | | Bull have teamed up with energy management specialists Schneider Electric to form a partnership offering comprehensive data centre energy audit services, designed to help organisations meet the challenge of energy efficiency.
The audit services will provide organizations with the information needed to define high performance, eco-friendly and sustainable practices in their IT activities and strengthen their environmental initiatives. Schneider Electric and Bull will combine their expertise in the areas of IT and power infrastructures management.
The auditing process will identify potential economies of scale, evaluate energy efficiency and potential savings, make recommendations consistent with the data centre’s energy profile, and support the customer in the implementation of an energy optimization strategy and in the achievement of performance objectives.

The move follows Bull’s launch of its "Bio Data Center" concept in October 2007. An innovative approach using an effective combination of servers and services to deliver performance, flexibility and sustainable development, The BDC approach focuses in particular on curbing complexity and enhancing flexibility, in order to simplify and strengthen IT infrastructures, and ultimately reduce the data centre’s carbon footprint.
