HP ProLiant range now supports Emulex 8Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs | | 2008-06-18 | | Emulex Corporation has announced that its Emulex LightPulse 8Gb/s Fibre Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) are now supported in the HP ProLiant rack, tower and blade-based server range.
The new Emulex LPe12000 single-channel and LPe12002 dual-channel 8Gb/s PCI Express HBAs offer the improved bandwidth, manageability and CPU efficiency required to support the increasing popularity of virtualized servers.

"The HP ProLiant server portfolio works with the Emulex 8Gb/s HBAs to provide an affordable, seamless migration to next-generation SAN environments."
The Emulex LightPulse family of HBAs also supports Virtual HBA technology, which provides the scalability necessary to support an increase in the number of applications running on virtualized servers.
Emulex LightPulse Virtual HBA technology enables customers to effectively virtualize the HBA functionality so each virtual machine running on a server can have independent access to its own protected storage.
