HP launches 2.5-Inch 300GB SAS Drives | | 2008-12-09 | | | HP in partnership with Seagate Technologies has launched a new 300GB capacity serial attached SCSI (SAS) drive in a 2.5-inch form factor, which it is claimed can reduce the power required by up to 75 per cent over comparable 3.5 inch 300GB capacity drives, a 60 per cent improvement in system level performance over 3.5-inch 15K drives with 70 per cent less space required.The new 300GB drives have a platter speed of 10,000 rpm and are designed for data centre applications.
