IBM expands SOA portfolio | | 2008-10-10 | | | IBM has announced an expansion of its service-oriented architecture portfolio with the release of new measurement tools, trial environments, training, support and integration tools.The SmartSOA Sandbox provides a hosted environment in which IT staff can experiment with middleware and validate applications before bringing them into their production environments.Adding to the existing QuickStart portfolio of WebSphere Application Server and Portal products, QuickStart for WebSphere DataPower will simplify SOA deployments and integrate existing Web services and legacy applications by linking WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances with services from IBM Global Technology Services. There are new versions of WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere MQA as well as a new file transfer service called WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition which will facilitate the transfer of files from a traditional architecture.IBM Internet Security Systems is to offer new Identity Assessment and Strategy Services to help companies plan a strategy for their specific business needs.SmartBusiness INsight, a series of industry studies will be available as a guide to prospective SOA adopters and a Smart SOA Social Network is being established to allow customers to share their knowledge and experiences.Key Agility Indicators will assess a company’s reaction to change in key areas and responsiveness to business events. | |
