Rave Computers launches Rave/Sun Ultra 24 Hybrid server | | 2008-08-23 | | | Responding to the demand among Sun customers for a rackmount format workstation, Rave Computer Association has developed the Rave/Sun Ultra 24 Hybrid server.This redesigned 3U variation of the Sun Ultra 24 retains the functionality of the Sun Ultra 24 and has four accessible high-capacity hot-swappable drives with full RAIDcapabilities, and is 400 Hz capable."Based on customer feedback, Rave developed the Hybrid Ultra 24 to supportSun customers who required full height/length PCI cards in a rackmountformat," said Doris Block-Tomlinson, Vice President of Business Development."We modified the Sun Ultra 24 and developed a lightweight, high capacityrackmount workstation with features that are not available in Sun’s currentlyx86 product offerings."The system comes with preinstalled Solaris 10 OS, Sun Studio, Sun Java Studio, Sun Java Studio Enterprise and NetBeans 5.5 development tools.
