Sun releases xVM VirtualBox update

Sun has released a new version of its free and open source xVM VirtualBox desktop virtualization software.xVM VirtualBox software lets users create "virtual machines" into which to build, test and run cross-platform, multi-tier applications on a single computer.xVM VirtualBox 2.0 comes with improved performance and platform support, and now supports 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.In addition Sun has now developed a new user interface for the Mac platform giving Mac users a better networking performance. The software also promises increased performance for Sun’s Solaris OS, and for AMD-based systems.Sun offers 24/7 support to purchasers of xVM VirtualBox Software Enterprise Subscriptions, which start at $30 per user per year. They will also receive a Right-to-Use License, allowing them to deploy the xVM VirtualBox platform using their own software deployment tools.
